New Madrid (October 2010)
This was a ride from our home near Battle Creek to New Madrid, Missouri, to see marks left by the big earthquake of 1811-1812. Myra came along by car, but gave me a three-day head star before she joined me. Total distance: 655 miles. There were 11 days of riding, plus two rest days in between rides. At the end, we spent two days in the Missouri bootheel, viewing earthquake damage by car.
