  This photo was taken September 18, 2003, I think somewhere between Williamsport and Fredericktown, Ohio. Had I been riding at an illegal speed? I was on my way to Mount Vernon, and then to Kenyon College at Gambier where I spent a day in the archives, looking through some of the papers of its first president, Philander Chase. In 1832, during the Black Hawk war, Chase was in Michigan, having left the college he founded under unpleasant circumstances.   Imported on 24-Sep-2006 from a LiveJournal of 1-May-2006 When I got to Buffalo, I found Myra had not yet left. So we had lunch together. There was Nextel service at Buffalo, so I called to see how things were going back at work. It was the first time since I left on vacation. (Nice!) It was already into the afternoon by the time I started south again.
