  Sometimes bicycle tourers on the Phred e-mail list will ask about routes, say, between Chicago and Philadelphia. When they do, I think about roads like this one, which lies just south of I-80 in northwestern Ohio. It's east of Metz, Indiana. This was a pleasant place to ride in September 2003.
