Near the 1809 treaty line in Fayette County IN

(29 August 2011, continued)   It has been a while since I posted anything, so I’m posting a couple more photos from August 29 to prove that I’m still here.   Maybe I can excuse myself by mentioning that my work responsibilities have shifted a little this month and I’m still adjusting.  It’s good, though, because my main new project is a history project rather than a computer IT project.

In the above photo, the 1809 treaty line crosses this east-west road near this point  in Fayette County, Indiana.   But when I was there I should have turned around and faced the other direction to get the treaty line in the photo.    There is no visible mark  that one can see from ground level here, anyway.

Same place, and still facing the wrong direction.    This farm place is inside the land ceded to the United States in 1809.
